The customer had an animal in their attic.
Solutions provided:
Remove water damaged ceiling from carport to include trim on the inside perimeter and clean up and dispose of debris, install exterior rated plywood and new trim to ceiling of carport and then paint white with exterior paint which will be prime ready. Blow in r 38 cellulose insulation overtop in attic which old insulation has fallen for a square footage area of 250 ft.².
